Valentine’s Day has always been the best time for paper dollies and layered-paper or die-cut greeting cards. In 2017 we'll see paper stretch into newer applications. Think about decorative pendant garlands and dimensional, corrugated cardboard hearts and messages, like XOXO, as seen in G!'s Light Up décor.

As February gives way to spring, we believe paper will take an unexpected, and even more-complicated turn. Specifically, origami will advance, taking the form of butterflies, grasshoppers and other insects in a variety of sizes and colors. When summer arrives, the ongoing nautical trend will usher in glossy-paper schooners afloat upon water-filled crystal bowls.

Time has taught us that there are few materials as adaptable to the ever-changing world of seasonal décor as paper, so don’t be surprised to see it taking center stage in the next few years!
